If you have any questions or issues with the gourds we make, please reach out to us via our Facebook page above. You can also check out our shop on Etsy for some of our gourds and to even request a custom painted gourds via the shop button at the top of the page. We will try to post drinking gourds on Etsy as time permits since a lot of the time our drinking gourds will be at the following festivals:
April – Norman, OK – https://medievalfair.org/ – near the west side of the festival in white rental tent until we buy an Oakenfoot.com tent.
August to October – Kansas City, KS – https://www.kcrenfest.com/ – At Mugged By SOL
September to October – Saint Louis, MO – https://www.stlrenfest.com/ – At Seymour’s of London
Check back as we plan to attend other festivals in 2024!
If you would like to see me working on the gourds, I do stream myself working on the gourds on Twitch and upload the recorded video to YouTube
Here is some information on the drinking gourds we make and basic care and cleaning directions:
After being cleaned on the inside, the drinking gourds are coated on the inside with 3 to 4 coats of resin then we water test for 3 days to test for any leaks and to avoid any bitterness from the beverage coming in contact with bare gourd. If you ever have an issue with one of our drinking gourds causing your please contact us as our goal is for your drinking gourd to last you for years. I personally use one of my first drink gourds as my ever day “water bottle”.
The Max CLR (click here for more information on it) food grade resin (FDA data sheet) we use for coating the inside of the gourds can handle hot and cold nonalcoholic and alcoholic up to 150+ degree such as hot chocolate and hot coffee, just be careful drinking out of the gourd since some of the gourd shapes can have a splash back.
For cleaning you can use hot water and soap or even a mix of water and vinegar on the outside and inside of the drinking gourd then let the drinking gourd dry upside. In a nutshell, treat the drinking gourd like you would a wood mug or drinking horn and you will have many years of use out of the drinking gourd as I have been using the first one I made for over 4.5 years and going as my primary drinking vessel!
AND DO NOT microwave your gourd or put it in the dishwasher!!
We will be updating the web site as time permits.
